I started with a bee that was around and inch long and wanted to see how small I could go. There is something fascinating about miniatures and I love the challenge of making something as small as possible. I hope you enjoy making Beatrix!
Whitby Wrist Warmers
I designed this simple pattern on a road trip up to Whitby. They are warm, soft and cosy and will keep you toasty while leaving your fingers free. You can download the pattern here. Any problems do let me know !
Whitby Wrist Warmers are easy to whip up in an evening once you have got the hang of the stitches. Double crochet in the back loop only is used to create a ribbed cuff as a flat piece which is then joined to form a round cuff. Working in the round after that rows of half trebles and rows using puff stitch make a textured cosy body to the glove.
In this day and age we are constantly using our phones for a variety of reasons or retreiving keys, money or cards from our bags. Having fingers free means less messing about pulling gloves on and off and less chance of losing a glove, something that I do often!
Any chunky yarn can be used. I used Woolcraft Pebble which is a nice variegated cosy yarn perfect for keeping your hands warm. Another yarn which I like to use is Jame C Brett Marble chunky.
